Focus On The Goal
A leader’s source of redundant success
I am a Cloud Architect with a passion for business transformation and utilization of teamwork & leadership principles to exceed customer expectations.
The ability to continually focus on the goal will determine if one is successful in achieving that goal. As a leader and Cloud Architect, my focus must be on maintaining and strengthening the attributes and skills needed for the role of Cloud Architect. In the esteemed publication Gartner, the main responsibilities of a Cloud Architect are simplistically stated:
• Lead cultural change for cloud adoption
• Develop and coordinating cloud architecture
• Develop a cloud strategy and coordinating the adaptation process
Further simplified, Gartner's statements allude to:
• People skills
• More people skills
• Even more people skills
In order to lead, understand current culture, adopt a new culture, develop, strategize and coordinate, a Cloud Architect is going to have to be successful with people.
I believe that people are the gateway to business success. Indeed, to be successful – redundantly successful – a Cloud Architect will need to master Emotional Intelligence, Communication, Active Listening, Collaboration, Open Mindedness and Resourcefulness. Mastering these people skills ensures both personal success and business success.
